“Witchcraft” Flies Again

Participating in the Collings Foundation’s WINGS OF FREEDOM TOUR, the Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” a WWII Heavy Bomber and legend of the 8th Air Force, flew into York Airport in York, Pennsylvania for a visit from October 10 to October 12.

Our friend Yvonne Caputo visited us recently to honour her dad, Mike Caputo, who served with the 8th Air Force as a Navigator in WWII here in Norfolk. He later built the fantastic model of “Witchcraft” that hangs proudly in our library. Yvonne visited the plane on its tour stop this week and got to sit in the Navigator’s seat….just where her father sat in combat. Yvonne’s husband Kirk captured a short video of Witchcraft in flight; check it out on our Facebook page.

(Thank you to Yvonne and Kirk for allowing us to share their great footage!)
