This Wednesday the Memorial Library hosted the first of three Record Breakers Summer Reading events – celebrating the moon landing’s 44th anniversary. We learned a little bit about the first animals in space and watched the original footage of the Apollo 11 lift off. Then we created some short poems and sentences about being in space and wrote a short story about space. The stories were great, covering the first tortoise in space, what people would bring with them if they went to the moon, watching a lunar mission take off from the beach and an alien attacking the lunar module. We’ve got a few to share with you here:
And we also had a good time writing some phrases and putting words together, all as moon related as we could get them!
Thanks to the kids and parents who came, we at the Memorial Library had a great time and hope that you all did too!
