W. G. Sebald, the celebrated German author of Austerlitz, Campo Santo, and many other works, died near Norwich in a 2001 car crash. For over thirty years, Sebald taught at the University of East Anglia. Plotting the path through Sebald’s life in Norfolk inevitably leads to the area’s wartime history.
